QuoteAloud — Terms of Use

These terms cover your use of the QuoteAloud app. They are written in plain language and describe the app as it is actually built. By using the app you accept them. The privacy policy, in Settings, says what happens to your data.

What QuoteAloud is

A tool for running a trade business: you describe a job out loud, the app drafts an itemized quote, and the quote can become a job, an invoice and a job report. It is a drafting and record-keeping tool. It is not an accountant, a lawyer or a tax adviser, and it does not file anything on your behalf.

AI drafts must be checked before you send them

Speech becomes text, and that text is read for the services and quantities you mentioned. Both steps are done by AI and both can be wrong — a misheard word, a missed item, a quantity read as two instead of twelve, a line that does not belong. The same applies when you use "Fill from text".

Every AI draft is a draft. Review every line before you send a quote or invoice to anyone. We do not warrant that a transcript or an extracted item is accurate or complete. If a draft is wrong or offensive, you can tell us with Report a problem with this draft on the review screen.

What you are responsible for

The documents you send. The app prices a quote from the price list you entered, using ordinary arithmetic; it never invents a price. What you send is your quote, invoice or report, not ours.

Your tax settings and invoice details. The tax rate, tax identifier, currency and other details on your documents are the ones you entered. We do not check them against the rules of your country, and we do not promise that a document meets every legal requirement where you work.

Your customers' data. The names, addresses, phone numbers, notes, photos and signatures you record belong to your business and are stored on your phone. You are responsible for handling them lawfully: having a reason to record them, telling your customers, keeping them secure, and deleting them when you should.

Your account. Keep your Google account or your password secure. Activity through your account is treated as yours.

Price

This version of QuoteAloud is free and has no paid plan: no subscription, no in-app purchase and no trial. It includes 5 voice quotes a month; "Fill from text" uses one of them too. Entering a quote's items by hand is unlimited, and every other feature is included.

If a paid plan is offered in a later update, its price, billing period, any trial and how to cancel will be shown in the app before you can buy, and Google Play will handle the payment.

Your data, and losing it

Your business data lives in a database on your phone. We hold no copy of it, so we cannot restore it. Android may back it up to your own Google account and restore it to a new phone signed in to the same Google account; that backup does not include job photos, signatures or your logo, and it is between you and Google. If you uninstall the app, lose the phone or clear its data without such a backup, that information is gone. Export or share the PDFs that matter to you.

Availability

Voice quotes depend on a third-party AI platform and on your internet connection. They may be slow, briefly unavailable, or paused if our own running costs reach their monthly cap. When that happens the app says so, and entering items manually keeps working.

Acceptable use

Do not use the app to break the law, to send documents you know to be false, or to record anyone you have no right to record. Do not try to get around the usage limits or to access another account.

Limits of our liability

The app is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profit, lost business, or losses arising from a quote, invoice or report you sent — those are your documents and your commercial decisions. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Ending these terms

You can stop using the app at any time, and delete your account in Settings → Delete account. We may suspend an account that is being used to attack the service or to abuse the limits, and will say why where we can.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the new version ships with an app update and the date at the top moves. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new version.
